• About My Practice

I earned a Masters in Social Work in 1994 and set off to gain diverse experiences in a variety of public/local government, private and non-profit settings. As a therapist, I have had the pleasure of working with high school students challenged by learning disabilities/ADHD and associated social and family dynamics. In addition, I have served adults engaged in the addiction/recovery process. Ultimately, my career path moved me into advocacy work, supporting the rights and needs of vulnerable adults and seniors.

I had a concurrent desire to pursue training in an evidence-based psychotherapy model which led me to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy model.

To that end I have completed:

  • IFS Level 1, 2 and 3 trainings.
  • Serve on the IFS training staff as a Level 1 and 2 Program Assistant (PA).
  • Actively participate in on-going consultation groups led by IFS Senior Lead Trainers.
  • Enrolled in the online IFS Continuity Group which hosts courses such as Restoring Health and Healing from Trauma, Self-led Sexuality and Intent, Impact, and Intercultural Competence: How to Successfully Navigate Difference.

I sincerely believe that a therapist can only take a client as far as they themselves have gone and as such, have undertaken my own journey of healing. My work with a skilled Internal Family Systems therapist has been life altering, promoting personal growth in ways not accessible to me with other therapeutic modalities. I am committed to my development as a therapist, to clinical supervision and to ongoing training in Internal Family Systems Therapy.

" From the very beginning to the very end, pointing to our own hearts to discover what is true isn't just a matter of honesty but also of compassion and respect for what we see. "
